About Yur
My name is Yur Yesli, I am professional Jazz guitarist and pianist based here in Montreal.
I have 15 years of playing experience and 10 as a performer/educator.
I hold a bachelor’s degree from West London University.
Over the last 8 years I have performed and studied with some of the best musicians in Europe and the world (Barry Harris, Steve Fishwick, Tom Kirkpatrick, Sara Dowlong, Steve Brown etc) and have gained a wealth of knowledge from these experiences.

I believe in tailoring my lessons to the student's needs, desires and current abilities as opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach!
I emphasize a rigorous study of the fundamentals of the instrument and of music theory, especially in the early stages of learning.
It has been my experience that doing so gives my students a strong foundation to not only be able to progress quickly once they reach an intermediate level but to fully understand what it is they are doing, and most importantly, to enjoy themselves on this beautiful and fulfilling journey!
I specialize in Jazz and music theory, and will be able to help you whether you are a complete beginner or a more advanced player who is looking to improve their solo playing, technique, sound, practice or simply to be held accountable!
Depending on the health/safety measures I will be able to teach from my home or from Zoom/Skype.
