About Memoona
Biology is one of the most rewarding subjects to learn when it is taught clearly and patiently — and that is exactly what I aim to provide. I hold an MPhil in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology, and I have spent several years helping students build a genuine understanding of biology, not just memorize facts for exams. I have worked with learners from grade 5/6 through to university level, adapting my teaching to suit each student's age, pace, and academic goals. My lessons are structured, well-prepared, and focused on results, so you can trust that every session is time well spent. Whether you are just beginning to explore biology or working through advanced university-level topics, I am committed to helping you learn with clarity and confidence.
My passion for biology began during my own studies, when I realized how much more meaningful the subject became once I understood the reasoning behind it, rather than just memorizing terms and diagrams. That shift from confusion to clarity is something I want every student I teach to experience. Teaching allows me to combine my academic background with something I genuinely enjoy: helping students discover that biology is not just a subject to pass, but a way of understanding the world around them. Seeing a student go from struggling with a topic to explaining it confidently is what motivates me to keep teaching.

My Approach to Tutoring
I believe biology is best learned when complex ideas are broken down into simple, relatable concepts rather than memorized as isolated facts. My teaching methodology combines clear conceptual explanations with real-world examples, diagrams, and active recall techniques — helping students not just pass exams, but genuinely understand how living systems work. I encourage questions, use past-paper practice to build exam confidence, and adapt my pace to each student's learning style.
Lesson Structure
Each lesson runs for 45 minutes and typically includes a quick review of the previous topic, focused teaching on the day's concept using visual aids, flowcharts and examples, and guided practice questions to reinforce understanding before moving on. Encourage my students for questioning and inculcate critical thinking.
My Qualifications & Experience
I hold an MPhil in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology, giving me strong subject depth beyond the standard curriculum. I have several years of tutoring experience, helping students strengthen their fundamentals, improve exam performance, and build genuine confidence in biology.
