About Livia
I’m a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry. My passion lies in exploring the fascinating chemistry of natural products and biomolecules. I’ve always been intrigued by the colours, scents, and therapeutic powers that nature holds within its molecules. Much of my work focuses on **secondary metabolites**, **natural dyes**, **flavours**, and other **biologically active compounds** found in plants, fungi, and microbes. I enjoy guiding students through the processes of **extraction, isolation**, and **structural elucidation** of these natural substances. My teaching style is hands-on, concept-driven, and deeply connected to real-world applications. I break down complex ideas into digestible lessons and help students understand the relevance behind each molecule. Whether it's alkaloids, terpenes, or phenolic compounds, I make their stories come alive. Together, we explore both the science and the wonder behind Chemistry. I want every student to feel curious, confident, and inspired. Let’s uncover the hidden chemistry of nature—one molecule at a time.

My teaching approach for Chemistry is focused, strategic, and student-centred. I guide students through both the fundamentals and advanced topics in General, Organic, Physical, and Inorganic Chemistry, along with Biochemistry and Environmental Chemistry. I also specialise in **AP Chemistry test preparation**, helping students tackle **complex problem-solving, theoretical explanations, and experimental analysis** with confidence. I use **targeted drills, timed practice tests**, and topic-based worksheets to sharpen problem-solving skills. Each session is tailored to the student's pace and learning style. Difficult topics are broken down with clear, simple explanations and real-life examples. Alongside Chemistry, I integrate relevant concepts from **biology, physics, and epidemiology** where useful—especially for students aiming for STEM careers. My background as both a **teacher and epidemiologist** allows me to explain scientific patterns clearly and logically. I regularly monitor progress and adjust the learning plan as needed. We work on building exam strategies and strengthening weak areas. My students are not only prepared academically—they gain confidence and clarity. I am dedicated to helping them **excel in tests, assignments, and beyond**.
