Hi, I'm Suryansh! I'm a mechanical engineer currently doing my Master's at the University of Groningen, with a research background at IIT Kanpur, India working on structural dynamics and sensing systems. I love breaking down technical topics — structural mechanics, vibrations, control systems, FEA — into something that actually makes sense, not just something to memorize for an exam. My teaching approach I build every session around intuition before formulas. I want you to understand why an equation behaves the way it does before we work through the derivation or the numbers. Most of my students come in stuck not because they can't do the math, but because a concept from lecture never fully clicked, so that's where we start. A typical lesson We usually begin with you telling me exactly where you're stuck a problem set, a concept from lecture, or a simulation that isn't having. I'll walk through the underlying idea with a diagram or simplified example first, then we solve the actual problem together, step by step, with you doing as much of the work as possible while I guide. For FEA/MATLAB sessions, we work directly in the software so you leave with a model or script you understand, not just notes. My specific skills Strong grounding in structural mechanics, dynamics, vibrations, and control systems from both coursework and hands-on research. Practical FEA experience in ANSYS and COMSOL: I can help you set up a model correctly, not just interpret output. Applied MATLAB for simulation, data analysis, and coursework, beyond textbook syntax. Experience explaining technical material clearly, from working in a research lab environment where I regularly presented complex results to non-specialists. Who these lessons are for Bachelor's and Master's level students in mechanical engineering (or related fields) who need help with coursework, exam preparation, a specific simulation or FEA project related to my field, or thesis-related modeling. Equally suited to someone who's fallen behind and needs to catch up, or someone who's doing fine but wants to go deeper into a topic like vibrations or control systems. No prior FEA/MATLAB experience required, I can start from the basics if needed.
