About Ira
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhil in Physics. My teaching goes beyond traditional physics, blending science with art and restoration. I focus on how light interacts with pigments, material analysis, and conservation science to help students understand the physics behind preserving art. I use real art historical examples to make lessons engaging and relevant. By exploring non-destructive testing principles and the physical properties of art materials, I offer a unique interdisciplinary approach. This helps students see how physics plays a vital role in conserving cultural heritage. I enjoy working with art history students, conservationists, and anyone curious about the science behind masterpieces. My goal is to make physics accessible and meaningful in this fascinating context. I believe that understanding the physical nature of art deepens our appreciation and ability to protect it. Together, we explore how physics helps preserve history and culture. I am passionate about applying science to keep artistic treasures safe for future generations. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong conceptual understanding of Physics. I specialize in topics like Newtonian mechanics, forces and motion, energy conservation, and practical problem-solving using fundamental laws. I believe students learn best when they actively engage with the material through clear explanations and hands-on examples. This helps make complex ideas easier to grasp.
I also cover related subjects such as dynamics, kinematics, work and power, and the basics of thermodynamics to provide a well-rounded learning experience. My method encourages curiosity and critical thinking, guiding students to connect theory with real-world applications.
I understand that every learner is different, especially those who are career re-aligners or prefer theoretical thinking. I provide dedicated support tailored to their needs. My goal is to help students not only memorize formulas but truly understand how physical principles govern the world around us.
