I like to build my lessons on mutual respect and partnership - I will always meet my students where they are, with patience, understanding and encouragement.
I have a lot of experience teaching various types of students - from Afrikaans-speaking pre-primary school students, to Chinese primary school students, to adults from around the world. I know how to make lesson plans on specific topics like grammar and spelling, and provide support for school-given assignments or reading material. I know when it's best to play a game, or when it's time to encourage my students to focus.
However, the style of lesson I do best is conversational English. I believe that communication is the most important thing we have as humans - and all it takes to communicate is being able to deliver a message in a way that a listener can understand.
I want to help you feel empowered in your communication, even when it's not 100% "correct English". I want to help you feel confident in delivering and understanding jokes, talking about a wide variety of topics, and being able to engage with the English language in a way that is fun and enriching.
I promise that lessons with me will feel fun, casual and interesting and you will leave feeling inspired by the English language!
