Rules for Cancellation Notices

Acceptable last minute cancellation:

1) Emergencies: if the student is ill, please text tutor as soon as possible to cancel the appointment. If possible, rescheduling is recommended and permitted, depending on availability.

Acceptable excuses with at least 24 hours advance notice must be through text message:

1) School and National holidays and vacations (if planned, notify tutor in advance)

2) Unless you must miss a session because of a conflict of schedule, then you can make up by switching with another student, and it is done by the tutor for that particular week only. If no other schedule is available, then student may miss for that week only.

3) Please refrain from scheduling doctor or dentist appointments on your scheduled slots
Since students often have scheduled other classes around their schedules, so availability to switch the time or make up a class is reduced or impossible.

Unacceptable excuses are notices less than 24 hours-notice:

1) If parents fail to communicate the teacher through text message with less than 24 hours-notice for reasons other than sickness, then it may be rendered unacceptable and the parents may be charged.

2) If student consistently miss sessions for nonhealth related excuses, it is under the discretion of the tutor to assess each individual case. Usually if there is a waiting list of students requesting an open slot, tutor will notify the parents and warn them about the possible loss of their scheduled slot. The availability of slots are not fixed and they may change depending on the time of the year.
