About Catherine

I have a passion for helping young people and adults achieve their potential. I love coaching budding young singers for auditions to drama schools and classical music examinations. I love knowing that I've contributed towards them achieving their dreams of being performers and industry professionals. And lastly enjoy watching people blossom and aim to support them on their gradual journey as competent and confident vocalists.

About the lesson

I charge £30 for a 1 hour lesson. I have three years' experience in teaching both with agencies and self-employed, and 10 years' performance experience including lead roles in contemporary operas and performing in concerts in London and East Anglia. I graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in 2015 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance. I like to provide a mixture of vocal technique and performance interpretation. I pay particular attention to breath support, projection and resonance. I also address characterisation and the meaning behind a piece of music. In cases where the song is in a different language I look at pronunciation, phonetics and translation.

Perfect! Catherine has been an amazing vocal coach for my teenage daughter. She has a very calm, friendly and assured approach and put my daughter at ease from the very start. She explains techniques really well and has helped my daughter to expand her vocal range as well has improving her confidence to do more and try new songs. She has helped my daughter to achieve her goal of getting into sixth form college to study musical theatre as well as providing some very enjoyable sessions! I would definitely recommend Catherine to anyone looking for vocal coaching.
