About Jack

Jack is a session guitarist and teacher based in the West Midlands area. Jack is a dedicated and passionate tutor who has taught hundreds of students of all skill levels online and in-person for 7 years. As a session musician, Jack is proficient in several different genres from Jazz, Rock & Pop to Blues & Classical music. Jack is classically trained and holds a Bachelor's in Music from Goldsmiths University of London.

About the lesson

Jack teaches students of all interests and skill levels from ages 8 and up. Jack has a fun and friendly approach to each lesson and can adapt his teaching style to suit all types of learners. Jack's speciality is in Jazz but has taught lessons for students interested in all genres and topics, including theory and songwriting. Students that have studied with Jack have gone away with a clearer understanding of the fretboard and a practical set of skills to use in all musical situations. Lesson topics include (but are not limited to): - Soloing/Improvisation - Making sense of music theory - Technique and understanding the fretboard - Writing & learning songs First Lesson: Your first lesson with Jack will begin with a 'get to know' session where you will meet your new teacher. First lessons are an analysis period that helps establish what your learning objectives might be and where you wish to improve, before constructing some short/long term goals. Beginners: If you happen to be a beginner, you may need a few things before you can start: - Guitar - Guitar Plectrum/Pick - Learning Folder Online Lessons: Jack is readily available to teach online via Zoom, Facetime or Skype and uses a high-quality audio setup that allows students to hear Jack's instrument and voice in crisp quality.
