About Doug
I began studying music over 30 years ago and have had many experiences as a performer and educator. I have bachelor's and master's degrees in music and specialize in new music composition. I have experience in the Western tradition, jazz, and some music from different parts of the world. Let me help you achieve your goals!

My philosophy of teaching establishes your goals first, whether that's just finishing an assignment or pursuing your end career goals. With those goals in mind, I help you learn what you need to know. I have used many of the common theory texts in my teaching. My tutoring is great for college students and high school students wanting a jump start on their music theory journey.
