About Samantha
My teaching approach for Piano focuses on Communication, Empathy, Flexibility, Cultural Sensitivity, and Integrity. I believe in clear and open communication with students, creating a comfortable space where they feel confident to ask questions, share ideas, and express themselves through music. Understanding each student’s unique needs and learning style is key, so I adapt lessons to suit their pace, goals, and interests.
Empathy and cultural sensitivity guide my lessons. I respect every student’s background and experiences, making learning inclusive and relatable. I encourage creativity and self-expression while ensuring that technical skills and musical fundamentals are carefully developed. Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons, explore new musical ideas, and introduce innovative exercises like improvisation, ear training, and composition to make learning engaging and practical.
Integrity is at the heart of my teaching. I provide honest feedback and structured guidance to help students progress steadily and build confidence. While Piano is my main focus, I also support learning in related subjects such as music theory, composition, and performance skills. My goal is to inspire a love for music, nurture talent, and help students achieve their personal and academic goals in a supportive, motivating environment.

I am an experienced Piano tutor with over 10 years of teaching college students. I specialise in helping students strengthen their skills in Performance, Theory, and Composition. My goal is to make learning piano both enjoyable and meaningful, focusing on building a strong musical foundation that students can carry throughout their studies and careers. I work closely with each student to understand their goals and tailor lessons to meet their individual needs.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly interactive. I emphasise hands-on learning through practical exercises, creative projects, and real-life musical examples. I also integrate innovative methods such as ear training, improvisation, and composition exercises to make lessons more engaging and to develop well-rounded musicianship. I focus on building confidence and creativity while ensuring students grasp essential technical skills.
Beyond piano technique, I guide students in developing performance skills, stage presence, and musical interpretation. I provide clear feedback and structured practice plans to help students progress steadily. My lessons aim to inspire passion, deepen understanding, and foster a lifelong love for music. Whether preparing for exams, performances, or personal growth, I support students every step of the way.
