About Shemsi
My name is Shemsi, I am 18 and I am a performer. When I was six years old I joined a theatre company named BARTA Performing Arts Academy, I was with them for 11 years and in my final production I was Princess Fiona in Shrek! Most recently I graduated with three distinctions from Artemis College where I studied musical theatre. Performing and singing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I want to teach new talent to help them discover their full potential, while understanding how to care for their voice and prevent potential injury from bad technique. I am aware that singing lessons can be intimidating so we will take things slowly and I will never pressure my students into anything that could make them uncomfortable. The aim is to have fun and to train with good habits that will benefit singers in the future.

Typically my lessons would be one hour, and we would start by going over basic foundations of vocal health to help you understand some valuable practices in order to improve your singing skills. We can look at songs you are interested in singing and then I will help you with various important techniques such as, vowel manipulation, breath control, belting, the significance of preparation before you sing and many more. In the past I have taught groups of young children arrangements for productions. I also have teaching experience being a dance teacher alongside my mum who works at an all girls private school. I am happy to teach people from ages 7-14 since I can provide basic training for healthy vocals and budding singers. Whether you are a newbie to singing or you just want some tips for improvement I am happy to help and would love to be your singing teacher!
