About Hannah

I have been singing live since I was 10 years old which brings me to almost 20 years of live performance experience. I have played shows around Brisbane, Byron and the Gold Coast under the alias Athena Joy. I have been nominated for GC and QLD music awards and most recently started teaching singing and piano myself.
I completed a Bachelor in Popular music in 2016, absolutely love singing and songwriting and especially love the joy of getting to show those off in a live music setting.
I look forward nourishing your love of music and helping you as much as my teachers have helped me.

About the lesson

We can do either a half hour or an hour lesson depending on the students needs/desires.
I've taught all ages and can be adaptable to each student.
I have taught a range of levels of singing from absolute beginners, those singing purely for leisure to professional gigging musicians. Each singing lesson is broken up into 2 sections - half of the lesson will be spent on warm ups and exercises that help improve technique, vocal health and agility and the second half of the lesson is spent learning and singing your favourite songs. Depending on the song/environment of teaching I can accompany you on piano or we can use a backing track and we can practice performance skills and techniques to help you achieve your vocal goals.
For Piano I enjoy teaching the basics of reading music in a fun and fresh way and focusing on more beginner based levels that divert from traditional AMEB grading. However am open to exploring this avenue if a students desire changes in the future. I can help take you through different Piano Adventure's books appropriate to age and skill level as well as also finding sheet music to teach you the chords or basic melodies to your favourite songs.
