About Marissa
I am a singing tutor with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology and over 4 years of teaching experience. I specialize in vocal harmony, arrangement, and vocal production to help students create lush, layered vocal sounds. I teach styles like A Cappella, Pop, Gospel, and R&B, focusing on vocal blending and counter-melodies. My students range from school learners to aspiring professionals, all receiving tailored lessons. Improvisation and composition are central to my teaching, fostering creativity and confidence. I also incorporate music history and technology for a well-rounded approach. My teaching is interactive and supportive, encouraging exploration and expression. My teaching focuses on developing breath control, diaphragmatic support, and vocal stamina. I work with Suzuki students and orchestra members to improve vocal stability and strength. Stamina-building exercises help you sing longer and with less effort. Vocal health is always emphasized, with routines to warm up and cool down safely. You will learn proper breathing techniques to support your voice through all singing challenges. I provide exercises that increase endurance while protecting your vocal cords. Breath management skills are developed gradually to avoid strain. My method encourages consistent practice with attention to technique. I believe a strong, healthy voice is the foundation of great singing. You will gain confidence and power as you improve. Lessons combine technical skills with musical expression. Together, we create a solid vocal foundation. Singing will become easier and more enjoyable.
