About Alison

About the lesson

Perfect! Alison has been working with our kids age 5 and 7 (in French Immersion) or a few months now, and they've made great progress! Alison's calm and down-to-earth demeanor made them feel comfortable from their first session, which isn't easy as they're both quite shy. Her French is impecable and we love seeing her converse with our kids. We highly recommend Alison as a tutor!

Perfect! I have been taking French classes with Alison for about four months every Saturday. She always comes prepared and she is passionate about teaching the language even in those areas that tend to be boring such as grammar.

Alison's teaching techniques are rich and I am always looking forward to my classes.

Perfect! I have really enjoyed the lessons I have taken with Alison so far. We only meet for an hour, but we are able to cover a great deal of content, in part because she is well prepared. She let's me speak and gently corrects when I make a mistake, and her lessons are varied, practising reading, listening, writing and oral. Highly recommended!

Perfect! Alison is a great tutor. Her lessons are always unique and diverse. She teaches a good mix of grammar, listening and speaking skills. She is very patient and encouraging. She allows you to learn at the pace that you are comfortable with, while encouraging you to dive right in and step out of your comfort zone a bit. I've been taking lessons with her for almost six month and feel very satisfied with my progress. I would highly recommend her.

Perfect! I had the pleasure of taking french lessons from Alison for quite some months now. She helped me to polish my basic (almost forgotten) rusty french to the next level!
She is very friendly, punctual and uses different methods to make the session as lively as possible and even further engages the student based on their interests.

Find out more about Alison

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
It was in April this year, and at first I didn't really believe in this but I wanted to try, and after I really enjoyed to help people to understand and talk french
What makes you passionate about your subject?
French language is really rich but also very difficult that is why I feel useful to help people to learn this language
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I love be independent and work for myself.
I can use my imagination for giving life to the classes because if the classes are boring the students will run away, that's important to always try to think "what the student think about my class and about my way to teach, what can I improve .."
What are your keys to success?
Stay humble. Accept advice from anyone. Some students sometimes, because they are real teachers in their life, want to give you advice and change your way to teach, that's why we have to be very flexible and change immediately our way to teach to fit perfectly with what the student expect, because after all, he is the one who pay.
Also, the key is to prepare each lesson with creativity and passion.
