About Oliver

Hi, I’m Oliver, a Mathematics with Finance student at the University of Liverpool and a passionate maths tutor dedicated to helping students build confidence and achieve their goals. Having recently completed my A-Levels and progressed into a mathematics degree, I understand exactly what students are currently experiencing. Unlike tutors who may have sat these exams many years ago, I have a fresh understanding of the GCSE and A-Level curriculum, the challenges students face, and the techniques that work best in today’s exams. I achieved top grades in A-Level and GCSE Mathematics and now study university maths modules such as calculus II , linear algebra, probability II , statistics II , and financial mathematics.

Alongside my studies, I work as a STEM Mentor at a local college , supporting A-Level Maths students with problem-solving and exam preparation. My age allows me to connect with students on a more relatable level. I know how frustrating maths can feel when a topic doesn’t click, and I’m committed to creating a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without judgement.

About the lesson

I believe I offer a tutoring service that many other tutors don’t. I create my own personalised lessons and send complete written solutions to the lesson afterwards to help the student consolidate (many tutors don’t leave their students with material to look back on). My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether you’re working towards GCSEs, A-Levels, or simply looking to strengthen your understanding of mathematics. I focus on breaking difficult concepts into simple, understandable steps and explaining ideas in a way that makes sense to you. Because I’ve recently been through the same exams myself, I can share practical revision strategies, introduce you to online resources which benefit your revision, exam techniques and common mistakes to avoid!
