About Sara
Outside of teaching, I’m an avid reader and have a real love for books and language, which I enjoy bringing into my lessons to encourage a love of reading in children. I’m a warm, friendly, and approachable tutor who aims to make every session feel positive and supportive.
My teaching style is lively, open, and interactive. I like to create a relaxed environment where children feel comfortable participating, asking questions, and building confidence in their abilities. I believe learning should be engaging and enjoyable, especially for young learners, and I always aim to adapt my approach to suit each child’s personality and learning style.

I offer fun, engaging online sessions focused on phonics, early reading, early writing, and basic maths skills.
I can help children with recognising letter sounds, blending and segmenting words, building confidence with reading simple books, and developing early writing skills such as forming letters and writing their name. I also support early maths including counting, number recognition, simple addition, shapes, and patterns.
I also have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and understand the importance of patience, adapting learning approaches, and creating a calm, supportive environment where every child can learn at their own pace.
In addition, I have experience tutoring English for the 11+ exam. I can support students with reading comprehension, vocabulary development, spelling, grammar, and written responses to help prepare them for 11+ style questions.
My sessions are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each child’s needs, helping them build confidence and enjoy learning while developing important academic skills.
