About Ciaran

Hi my name is Ciaran! I am a native British English teacher living in Peru. I have been teaching English for 6 months and love connecting with students and helping them grow in confidence and use the language effectively! I have developed a passion for teaching and love watching students grow.

I was born in the UK and have Irish heritage. I feel incredibly blessed to be connected to both cultures and my classes reflect this! When you learn with me you will learn about the culture, history and customs of both British and Irish people while we learn the language.
I am on my own journey with learning Spanish and can speak confidently now about most topics. For this reason I have a particular speciality in teaching English to Spanish Speaking students.

I love reading and writing and my passions include music, history, politics & Mental Health. I also enjoy playing sport including football, tennis and swimming. I use most of my time exploring my city and walking my dog. I love travelling and exploring new places as well as nature and going hiking and sometimes camping!

About the lesson

I have become an English teacher since moving to Peru and in my 6 months of experience have taught students at all levels in their English journey from complete beginner to advanced. I have also taught students of all ages including young children, teenagers as well as adults.

I have experience in teaching business English and can draw from my previous experience in the charity, academic and business worlds in England to create a concise and effective plan for speaking confidently and effectively in business English across all sectors. I have also helped students planning to travel to the UK and other English speaking countries and can support students with real world scenarios as well as local dialects.

I am TEFL certified having completed a 200 hour Level 5 Diploma. I make sure that all of my classes are interactive and fun as well as informative. I believe that all aspects of English learning are essential but I pay particularly close attention to ensuring that my students can speak English confidently right from the start as well as understand English well. I make sure that my students will leave a class with me with at least one practical thing that they can use and that they will have had a good time while learning!
