About Alannah

I have recently graduated from UL in Ireland with a first-class honors in Applied Languages (Irish and French). I have lived in Ireland for the majority of my life, give or take a few summers abroad and an Erasmus in France. As I have experience in learning a foreign language, I am aware of the challenges that it can pose. However, I also know how rewarding it can be! Although I told everyone I'd never go into teaching, I find one-on-one lessons are very rewarding for both the teacher and student, an entirely different experience to classroom-based learning.

About the lesson

The lesson plan is up to you. Whether you're more interested in practicing oral skills and how to have authentic conversations in English, analyzing poetry or perfecting your grammar, I'm here to help you achieve your goals. These lessons are for anyone of any age, looking to improve their English skills. Lessons will be offered through the target language so at least an A2 level is recommended (If you could include your CEFR level in your message that would be great). I have completed 3 TESOL modules as part of my undergraduate program in Applied Languages and Linguistics and taught face-to-face classes with EFL learners. I have also previously taught Irish and French to many secondary school students through private online tuition.

I can’t recommend Alannah more for Irish grinds! I really like how straight forward and to the point she is! She is so thorough and takes careful measures in helping me grasp concepts in the language that are difficult ! Alannah has excellent organisational skills as well as fantastic communication skills.
