About Grace

I'm a native English speaker, educated at the University of Birmingham, with over ten years of experience teaching English across London, Hong Kong, and Moscow. I work with adult learners — professionals, and anyone preparing for UK-based work or life, but want to sound more natural, fluent, and confident.

I also speak Russian, so I know first-hand what it takes to sound natural in a second language — the specific things that give away an accent, and how to work on them without it feeling like a grammar lesson.

Outside teaching, my career has taken in corporate relationships work, safeguarding, and international development, including a role with UNICEF and several years with running my own non-profit organisation. I've also taught learners of every age and background, from very young children to fluent working professionals, including students with dyslexia — so I'm used to adjusting my approach to what actually works for the individual in front of me, rather than running a fixed programme. Clients often tell me this shows in how structured and focused our sessions are, even though they never feel rigid.

About the lesson

My focus is on how English actually sounds in real conversation: rhythm, intonation, and pronunciation, not just vocabulary and grammar. In Moscow, I taught English with a strong focus on pronunciation and grammar precision for students who wanted to refine how they sounded and achieve fluency. In Hong Kong, I worked closely with adult professionals, building lessons entirely around their goals rather than a fixed syllabus.
