About Katelynn
Hello! My name is Katelynn. I am an American woman with interests in travel, language, history, and social structure. I received my Associate's degree at South Seattle College, and I am in the process of my Bachelor's in Anthropology at Washington State University. I have certification in TESOL from Arizona State as well.
As an avid and frequent traveler, I have experience tutoring those who wish to learn English as a second language from the ages of 12 to 30+. I have always had a fascination with language from a young age, and as I have grown and traveled, I have only come to love the power of communication more. I hope to help learners in their pursuits of understanding and utilizing their English proficiency.

As a native English speaker and avid traveler, I have the unique experience of conversing and expressing with others at varying levels of English proficiency. My teaching methods include building and maintaining a professional and open classroom setting where students may freely express their questions and concerns regarding their own interpretations and understanding of the English language. Depending on the student's level of English proficiency and understanding, I will build a lesson plan including both new and prior knowledge as studies show this is the most effective method for promoting student motivation and learning accuracy. As a tutor with experience tutoring children and adults in the English language, my lessons are best for students and parents of students who prioritize utilizing their new language over test scores. We want our use of the new language to help us in navigating our world in real life scenarios such as foreign exchange, new work opportunities such as promotion, travel, making friends, and communicating with natives of the language. If you are someone or the parent of someone who wants to learn English in a setting that is fun, reassuring, and filled with real world practice, then I am the tutor for you. And, remember!
