About Adam
I am a native English speaker from the United States with a degree in Broadcasting/Communications. I am currently living in Brazil and learned to speak Portuguese on my own, along with the help of a few friends. I firmly believe that anyone can learn a second language, it's just a question of studying hard, being dedicated and most importantly not being afraid to make mistakes.
I dedicate my time these days to teaching English on line and also here locally. I have a method of focusing mainly on learning and improving day to day conversation. I have seen too many students come out of language schools not being able to have a normal conversation with a native speaker.
The most important part of your journey is to tell me what your interests are. Why do you want to learn or improve your English? What motivates you? What are your goals? Once I know that I will work to create a plan specifically for you to help you achieve your goals.

I offer a simple approach based on learning day to day conversations, vocabulary and expressions while also studying necessary grammar. My lessons are centered around the idea that humans use about 75% of the same words in any given day to express multiple different ideas. If you can master having normal day to day conversations you will feel much more confident when speaking with others.
Grammar is a very important part of any language learning journey but I try not to focus on it too heavily as it can become monotonous and boring. I want to keep my students focused on topics they want to talk about and things that interest them as that is the best way to continue learning a language while staying engaged in the process.
