About Matthew
My name is Matt, I am from and live in Birmingham, UK and I have had a varied background in terms of my professional and academic careers. As an avid language learner, I started my journey by studying French and progressed to University where I became an English assistant in France. This was the best year of my life and was a brilliant opportunity to not only teach English but to highlight the history, culture and food that we have in the UK and in the Anglophone world. I then studied for my PGCE in French but continued into the family business where I focused on sales, but most importantly became solely responsible for the business's finances. I am now in a position where I want to come back to spreading the importance of language learning whether that be English or French and to help you guys in the process achieve the goals that you want to achieve. That may be to increase your language proficiency for a holiday or even to improve it to make work life just that little bit easier. One thing that has always been said to me by English as a Foreign Language speakers is that they feel that their speaking skills are lacking because of their accent. As speaking is arguably the most important aspect of language learning, we will focus on working in a number of different regional English accents so that you can build confidence wherever you go in the UK. For beginner and intermediate language learners, my methodology consists of the introduction of new language and grammar, the consolidation of that and then finally the reproduction. This method will ensure that what you have acquired during the session has been understood and it all makes sense. I believe that language learning needs to be interesting to what the learner wishes to study. Our sessions can consist of culture, English in the wider world, history and more. Whatever you prefer!

Matt has a great experience in language learning and this can be seen in his tutoring sessions. Because he is a native English speaker, he is a great choice for whether you want to improve your English skills or in my case if you want to improve your French and have a better grasp on the language.
On top of that, he is approachable, calm and very supportive. I couldn't recommend Matt more!!The passion Matt has towards the French language really motivated me during my lessons with him.
