About Amna

I graduated from the University of Stirling with a degree in French, Spanish, and Secondary Education.

I was born and raised in Italy to Pakistani parents, speaking Italian, Urdu, and Punjabi at home. I then moved to Scotland at 15, which is where I became fluent and native in English. I’ve also spent a year teaching in Belgium and three months in Spain, so I know firsthand what it takes to adapt to a new country and pick up a language.

Because I’ve navigated multiple cultures and learned languages both at home and in school, I deeply understand how intimidating it can feel to speak a new one. On top of my MFL background, I have practical experience helping people build confidence in their everyday English. I keep our lessons relaxed, supportive, and focused on whatever you need help with most.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centred, highly interactive, and adapted to suit both adults and younger learners:

Interactive & Engaging: Lessons are designed around active participation—using practical real-world scenarios for adults, and engaging, game-based activities for younger students.

Inquiry-Based Learning: Rather than just memorising rules, learners answer questions, solve problems, and connect English to everyday life.

Active Speaking Time: Learners will take an active role in speaking and practicing during every session, while I facilitate, guide, and build confidence.
