About Thomas
FRENCH BELOW || FRANÇAIS PLUS BAS
Hello! My name is Thomas, and I am a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto. I am currently completing an Astronomy and Astrophysics Major and a Computer Science Major.
I was born in France where I studied until Year 11, and had the opportunity to move to the United States where I finished high school, and then to Canada, which has opened my perspective on different teaching methods in a variety of subjects, both in English and French.
Languages have been a core part of my education, with French and English as main languages from kindergarten, and appending Japanese in Year 6 and Spanish in Year 7. I continued Spanish through the Year 12, with IB Spanish B SL (score 7/7), and Japanese through to Year 10 (JLPT N5), retaking it in my first year of university (EAS121H1, now EAS152H1, A grade).
I have forged a rigorous, multidimensional approach to learning languages which I have used myself throughout my study of each of my languages, which I would share with you through my lessons.
I have also been in close contact with the teaching and tutoring field, having previous experience in online and in-person tutoring in mathematics and ESL, and relatives in the United States teaching system currently teaching French as a second language.

Bonjour ! Je m'appelle Thomas, et je suis un élève à l'Université de Toronto en troisième année de premier cycle. Je suis en voie de compléter une Majeure en Astronomie et Astrophysique, et une Majeure en Informatique.
Je suis né en France et y ai fait mes études jusqu'en 1re, et ai eu l'opportunité de déménager aux États-Unis où j'ai fini mon lycée, puis au Canada, m'ayant permis une ouverture d'esprit sur les différentes façons d'enseigner dans une variété de disciplines, en anglais tout comme en français.
Les langues ont formé une partie clef de mes études, avec le français et l'anglais dès la maternelle, complétés par le japonais à partir de la 6e et de l'espagnol à partir de la 5e. Je continuerai l'espagnol jusqu'à la fin de mon lycée avec IB Espagnol B SL (score 7/7), et le japonais jusqu'à la 2nde incluse (JLPT N5) que je reprendrai ensuite en première année d'université (EAS121H1, maintenant EAS152H1, note A).
J'ai façonné une approche rigoureuse et multidimensionnelle aux langues durant mon propre apprentissage, que je partagerais avec vous lors de nos leçons.
J'ai aussi été souvent en contact proche avec le domaine de l'enseignement et du tutorat, ayant obtenu de l'expérience en offrant des cours particuliers en mathématiques et anglais langue étrangère, ainsi que des membres de ma famille enseignant dans le système États-Unien enseignant en ce moment-même le français langue étrangère.

I am originally from France and completed the vast majority of my studies in my home country, during which I was constantly surrounded by French not only in classes but my interactions with family members, friends, professors, and anyone else!
While French is my first language, I have expanded my horizons in terms of foreign languages throughout the years, becoming well seasoned in English, advanced in Spanish, and learning basic Japanese. Learning this range of languages has allowed me to develop a range of tools and methods when wanting to study each language.
My lessons can cover any level of the French language, but will be tailored to your needs for each lesson, one after the other.
Usually, a lesson would start with getting to know what you know right now, followed by what you want to work on; I want to know your goals and how we can work towards them together.
Lessons would follow a multidisciplinary approach with reading, writing, and dialogue, as I believe (through personal experience learning languages) that the best way to understand a language is by practicing it through as many media and formats as possible.

Je suis français, et ai complété la plus grande partie de mes années d'études en France. Pendant ces années, j'ai été entouré de la langue constamment dans mes interaction avec ma famille, mes amis, professeurs, et qui que ce soit d'autre !
Bien que le français soit ma langue natale, j'ai saisi l'opportunité d'étendre mes connaissances dans les langues étrangères à travers mes années d'études, grâce à quoi j'ai pu obtenir un niveau équivalent natif en anglais, avancé en espagnol, et basique en japonais. Mon apprentissage de ces langues m'a aussi permis de développer un éventail de méthodes et d'outils pour apprendre chacune de ces langues.
Mes leçons sont ouvertes à n'importe quel niveau de la langue, mais je garantis d'adapter chaque session à vos besoins.
Une leçon lambda commencerait typiquement en voyant votre niveau en ce moment, puis en regardant ce sur quoi vous voulez travailler ; je veux connaître vos objectifs et savoir comment nous y mener ensemble.
De par mon expérience dans l'apprentissage des langues, la meilleure façon de s'améliorer est de s'entraîner avec tous les moyens et formats possibles. C'est pour cela que mes leçons suivraient une approche interdisciplinaire, c'est-à-dire avec un mélange de lecture, d'écriture, et de discussion.
