About Olivia

Bonjour ! I'm Olivia, a native French speaker and GTCS-registered teacher with 7 years' experience teaching French in Scottish secondary schools. I have lived in Scotland for 8 years and absolutely love sharing my language and culture with my students.

I qualified as a teacher of French in 2019 and have taught all levels from BGE through National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.

Whether you are looking to improve your exam results, build confidence in speaking, strengthen your grammar and vocabulary, or simply become more comfortable communicating in French, I can tailor lessons specifically to your needs.

About the lesson

I offer engaging, structured French lessons that are tailored to each learner’s goals, combining clear explanations, interactive activities, and practical language use to build confidence and fluency. With a PGDE in French and previous experience providing English tutoring at university, I understand how to adapt my teaching to different learning styles and abilities.

Lessons typically last one hour, providing enough time to develop key skills while keeping sessions focused and productive. My lessons are particularly suited to secondary school pupils, whether they need support with schoolwork, exams, or confidence in the language, but I am equally happy to work with learners of any age who want to improve or begin learning French.

After our lesson, I can provide work for you to do in your own time, wether to strengthen a particular skill or further develop a grammar point. It can be as easy as watching a video on Youtube or a French film, or something more task-based.
