About Yanna

I am a native French speaker and I have recently arrived in England to work as a French Language Assistant. I absolutely love teaching the French language and culture, and I am well aware of how complex it can be (even for native speakers!). In my free time, I love reading, cinema, travelling, and swimming. Most importantly, I am currently learning new languages and working to improve the ones I already speak, so I know exactly what it feels like to be in your shoes when learning a new language ! :)

About the lesson

My teaching approach centres on creating a healthy, supportive learning environment built on mutual trust. I believe that learning a language requires confidence, which is why my lessons are a safe space where students can speak freely and learn from their mistakes at their own pace.

• Techniques & Methodology: I offer interactive, personalised lessons tailored to each student's goals. For conversational practice, we focus on active speaking and listening comprehension to build natural fluency. For academic support, I specialise in teaching text analysis, grammar, and French essay writing (dissertations).

• Lesson Length: Lessons typically last 60 minutes, which is the ideal format to combine structured learning with active practice. However, the duration can be adapted based on your preferences and concentration needs.

• Qualifications & Experience: I am a native French teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Modern Literature and a Master 1 in French Literature completed in France. My practical experience includes working as a university tutor for native and international students, as well as serving as a French Language Assistant in a school setting.

• Target Audience: My lessons are open to all levels and ages. Whether you are an absolute beginner trying to speak French for the very first time, a school student looking to reinforce your skills, or a university student tackling advanced literature and essay methodology, everyone is welcome.
