About Gael

I'm an online French teacher with students all over the world. I'm a native French tutor and I have been teaching French since 2012. I have a degree in oil and gas management, French language and communication. I am fluent in English and I also teach ESL to francophones online.

About the lesson

With me you will learn four main subjects that will make you a French speaker. These subjects are: Grammar, Vocabulary, pronunciation and oral. In Grammar, I will teach you all the tenses and the most important grammar rules. In Vocabulary I will teach you all the most used words and expressions of the French language. In pronunciation, you will learn the alphabet, the French phonetic and all the main sounds. In oral we will practice together with small and simple debate and discussion. The oral session will be 100% in French and it will allow you to formulate your first sentences in French.

I speak French fluently because of my origin. I was born and grew up in a French speaking country.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
Yes, so many characters are attached to the French language. I can mention "Napoleon Bonaparte", "the effel tower" "France"...
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
There are so many words and expressions connected to the French language I like. I can mention "libre comme oiseau" "la paix du Coeur" etc.
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Speaking French is important to me because it helps me communicating with millions of people especially when I travel to a French speaking country like France, Canada, Belgium, Morocco and countries in West and central Africa.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
French is easy to learn when you have a good teacher. The difficulty people face is the lack of practice. To learn French easily, you have to get a native French teacher who will teach you the basic grammar rules, give you basic vocabulary words and maximize on the oral expression (speaking). Doing that at least two hours a week will unlock your ability to speak French.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
When I was at school in Gabon (a French speaking country) many students hated to learn French at school because it was about the things they knew already.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
When I went to France, I have learned new things about the French language and it pure origin. It has helped me a lot.
