About Stavros
I am a person who found his purpose in life through education. I learned that education is about taking risks, facing your fears, taking the tough road, and shaping your character. I consider myself privileged to grow up among teachers and academics, who taught me to respect the educational process, encourage academic research, and promote equal lifelong learning opportunities for all. This is why my teaching philosophy includes three virtues: (1) passion for teaching, (2) inspired leadership and (3) love for education.
I also love sports, music and movies. We can talk for hours about them, but only in Greek... Are you in?

With a strong command of both English and Greek, I have honed my writing and communications skills over two decades as a professor in the United States.
The experience of living abroad has enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the Greek language and its nuances for students seeking to learn it.
Teaching Greek as a second language can be a challenging task, but there are several strategies that can help make the learning process more effective. Here are a few things I learned how to teach Greek as second language:
Start with the basics: Begin by teaching the Greek alphabet and basic grammar rules. This will give students a solid foundation on which to build their language skills.
Use authentic materials: Incorporate real-life examples of Greek language and culture into your lessons. This can include newspapers, songs, videos, and other materials that will help students understand how the language is used in everyday life.
Encourage practice: Practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Greek as much as possible. This can include homework assignments, group activities, and class discussions.
Gove Feedback: Talk with students about their progress and provide constructive criticism to help them improve.
Be patient: Greek is a complex language, and it can take time for students to become proficient.
Adapt to student's needs: Each student has different learning style and pace, adapt to their needs and provide them with tailored materials and activities.
Emphasize on culture: Greek language is connected with culture, it's important to introduce students to the culture of the Greek speaking countries and use cultural context to help them understand the language and its nuances.
