About Evina
I was born in Athens and attended greek school until starting A-Levels in the UK. I was at one of the "Model Schools" in Greece, and I was a high achiever in all subjects. My Apolytirion of Gymnaseum was awarded a 19.5/20. I really enjoy reading Greek and Ancient Greek books about history and philosophy mainly and attending Greek theatre plays. I have never tutored before but I have voluntarily helped lots of students with maths and science (which are relevant to my A-Level background). I am really patient, always trying to find various ways of explaining one concept and I love helping in the process of learning in any way.

My strong points have always been my rich vocabulary and solid grammar. With begginers we will start trying to learn a basic vocabulary and to understand how Greek language is structured through grammar rules. With students working towards particular exams we will focus on all aspects of their specifications. We will do speaking and listening practice sessions, essay evaluation/marking, translation practice and analysis of the texts or movies in the reading list. Generally the sessions preparing students for exams will be tailored to each student's strengths and weaknesses. With more advanced learners that are not working towards a specific certificate we can further enrich the vocabulary and start focusing more on literature (such as classic Greek texts and poems), and thus understand more about Greek arts and culture as well as language.
