About Nancy
Hello, my name is Nancy. I am a native Mandarin speaker who has grown up in an English-based international education system, giving me a strong understanding of both languages and how to bridge them effectively. Through my academic experience, I have developed clear communication skills and a structured approach to learning, which allow me to support students reliably. My teaching approach focuses on practical communication and building confidence. I prioritize speaking and listening skills, helping students become comfortable using Mandarin in real-life situations rather than only memorizing vocabulary. I use simple explanations in English, real-life examples, repetition, and guided conversation practice to make learning natural and effective.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material, followed by introducing new vocabulary or sentence structures. We then practice through interactive speaking exercises, role-play conversations, and listening activities. I also provide corrections and feedback in a supportive way so students can improve without feeling discouraged. Lessons are adapted to each student’s pace and goals.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to bridge Mandarin and English learning styles. Because I was educated in English while being a native Mandarin speaker, I can explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand for international students.
My lessons are best suited for beginners and intermediate students who want to improve their Mandarin conversational skills, especially those from English-speaking or international backgrounds. Whether you are learning for school, travel, or personal interest, I will help you build confidence and fluency step by step.
