About Pok Man
Greetings! I'm Pok Man Chui, a committed language teacher who loves teaching Chinese. I bring a wealth of experience to our language-learning process. I have worked as an elementary and middle school teacher at a reputable tutorial centre in Hong Kong for two years. After every lesson, you will be able to understand a Chinese sentence because of my dedication to deconstructing the intricate Chinese structures into simple parts. I have experience teaching middle school math in both Chinese and English. Together, let's go on this language-learning journey; I'll be by your side every step of the way.

My teaching strategy aims to enable students to understand a Chinese sentence at the end of each lesson. Considering the complexity of Chinese structures, breaking down the language into individual symbols each session will significantly improve understanding. I encourage participation through talks and real-world examples and encourage students to seek clarification when necessary to increase their general knowledge. My classes run to whatever length suits the needs of the students or parents, but to avoid cognitive overload, I suggest a one- to one-and-a-half-hour study period.
I have a strong background in experience, having spent two years working in a tutorial centre in Hong Kong. I worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, helping students with their homework from 3 to 7 p.m. Throughout this period, students' feedback was consistently positive. I can teach middle school math in both Chinese and English, mainly in Chinese.
Welcome to our course on learning Chinese! No particular prerequisites are needed, and all students are welcome regardless of experience level. To get the most out of our classes, please ensure you can access an online learning environment for virtual courses and a notebook for taking notes and practising writing. We have two or three weekly classes, each lasting for one hour. I advise a 30-minute practice session to help students retain the material we covered in class. Effective learning depends on your active participation, so please make an effort to attend classes regularly, participate in discussions and activities, and finish any assigned practice sessions.
