About Lily
I am a dedicated tutor with three years of experience helping secondary school students succeed in GCSE Maths and Physics. As a recent graduate of Natural Sciences with a focus on Physics at the University of York, I bring strong subject knowledge and proven teaching skills to every lesson. My tutoring approach is student-centred, focusing on building problem-solving abilities and reinforcing solid methods. I start by assessing each student’s current level using past papers, then tailor lessons to target their specific areas for improvement. I encourage creative thinking and aim to make lessons engaging and confidence-boosting. I like to start the first lesson by giving students a past paper to work through. This helps me understand exactly where they excel and where they need extra support. From there, I focus heavily on problem-solving skills and reinforcing solid methodologies to build a strong foundation. I encourage creative thinking and aim to make lessons student-focused, tailoring each session to fit the unique needs and learning style of the individual. My goal is to boost confidence as well as competence, so students feel prepared and motivated. I have three years of tutoring experience, working with secondary students up to GCSE level in Maths and Physics. My focus is not only on helping students understand the material but also on applying it confidently in exam situations.
