About Annie

I am a college student, so I know how I want my tutor to teach me. I took AP Bio 2 years ago and I got a 5, so the material and how I studied is still fresh in my mind. I can explain concepts many different ways and I will work with you to figure out how you best learn. I plan to start off with the basics as I learn your preferred teaching method. We can try different methods of learning until we find WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU. I typically think it is helpful to draw diagrams, create analogies, and make helpful study guides to maximize learning. I want to help you understand, not just memorize, and I believe that we can work together and have some fun! Let's be friends and make this fun!

About the lesson

I am currently a biology major who teaches biology, chemistry, and earth science for middle schoolers and high schoolers. I got a 5 on AP Bio, a 99 on the Earth Science NYS Regents, and an A in Chem 105 and 106 in high school. I was ranked 3rd in my high school class and I have won several awards for sciences. I know that everybody learns differently, and I am experienced at meeting people where they are and helping them the way they want. Patience is key. We are not trying to rush through and make you memorize every vocab word. We are trying to help you understand science in your own way. I believe science can be fun once you truly understand it. It is amazing once you realize how the universe works.

When I was studying for my AP Biology exam, I asked Annie to help me create a study sheet and practice. She made me a stellar study sheet that was easy for me to understand while also covering everything I needed to know. She walked me through a bunch of practice problems and I was able to get a 5 on the exam because of Annie’s help! Thanks again!!

Annie is a great tutor! She is super patient and incredibly understanding. Anytime I’ve needed help with science homework, she has taken time to talk to me and help me fully understand the concepts. Plus she is super nice and very conversational!
