About Jacey

Hey, I'm Jacey and I'm a junior at East Tennessee State University. I've loved school since I was little, and I've also been taking care of children for 5+ years. I love being able to help kids understand their schoolwork, I know how hard it can be! I want to show your student that school can be fun! I’m responsible, prompt, and am super fun-loving! I am studying Nursing at East Tennessee State University . I knew I wanted to be a nurse after going on a leadership trip with No Barriers to Nepal, learning how to care for other people and making them smile. I want kids to love school as much as I do, and have some fun with it. I want to help kids learn ways to approach their homework and not get upset when they don't understand how to do it. I'm an A student, and am a hard-worker. I earned honors in high school and am really a go-getter. I volunteer for the animal shelter, the local elementary school the food bank, and the local symphony!! I have been on Broadway twice and I love to rollerblade!

About the lesson

Teaching is something that I genuinely enjoy! I personalize my lessons to meet each student’s needs, as we all have different ways of processing knowledge. I am skilled in working with students with learning disabilities, and make sure to make each student feel comfortable with what they're learning. I never want a student to walk away from a session nervous for class the next day or not understanding their homework. Typically I start with a review of the previous session, ask to go through their class notes, work on the homework together, and do some practice problems to get them prepared for their next class lesson! As a student who got tutored at a young age for math, I understand the needs of these students and how to help them not only understand, but really have fun, and have a passion for math! I can tutor any student up until high school pre-calculus! I specifically tutor algebra, pre-alegbra, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and arithmetic.
