About Sam

I'm Sam, a musician and songwriter based in New York City.

I've been playing guitar for as long as I can remember, and for the past 10+ years it's been my job, not just my hobby. I write, record, and perform with my band, playing shows at venues across NYC.

I bring that same professionalism to teaching. I pay close attention to the details that make the difference between playing a song and playing it well.

Songwriting is a big part of who I am as a musician, and it shapes how I teach. Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or you've been playing for years and want to level up, I'll meet you where you are and build a path that's right for you.

Music has given me a lot, and I take real pride in passing it on. If you're ready to put in the work, I'll make sure it pays off!

About the lesson

What sets me apart is that I'm a working musician, not just a teacher. I write my own music and perform regularly, so I can help you with the stuff that doesn't come from a textbook: how to play with feel, how to write your own songs, how to hold your own in a band or on a stage. If you're just starting, I'll get you playing songs you like fast. If you've been at it for a while, I'll help you find what's holding you back and push past it.

Lessons are open to any level, from complete beginners to experienced players. Acoustic or electric, any style. Just bring your guitar and a few songs you love, and we'll take it from there.
