About English Tutor
Hello! My name is Ratungua, and I’m a certified TEFL/TESOL English tutor with a background in Occupational Therapy. I’m originally from Namibia and currently based in the USA. My passion lies in helping others grow in confidence, find their voice in English, and achieve their personal and professional goals. I bring patience, creativity, and a supportive attitude to every lesson. My academic background has equipped me with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of how people learn, and the ability to adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles and levels. Outside of teaching, I enjoy dancing, reading, creating videos, learning new languages, and spending time with family and friends. I’m also a big fan of K-dramas and love discovering new cultures through entertainment and storytelling. Whether you're just beginning your English journey or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. As an English tutor, my teaching style is warm, patient, and student-centered. I tailor each lesson to suit your specific needs, level, and personal goals. Whether you're a child just starting out, a young professional preparing for interviews, or an adult looking to improve conversational fluency or business English.
My lessons are fun and engaging, using a mix of real-life conversations, games, roleplay, music, and storytelling to help you feel confident and comfortable speaking English. I believe in creating a safe space where students can make mistakes, ask questions, and grow at their own pace.
A typical lesson includes a short recap and then warm-up, vocabulary and grammar practice in context, followed by conversation or activity-based learning, and gentle feedback to support your progress. I also incorporate creative tasks to keep things fresh and enjoyable.
What sets me apart is my background in Occupational Therapy, which gives me a deeper understanding of how people learn and communicate differently. I approach teaching with empathy, adaptability, and a strong focus on helping you use English meaningfully in everyday life.
