About Paikea

With over 15 years of artistic experience, my passion for art has shaped both my career and education. I hold a Master’s degree in Māori and Polynesian Fine Art and Art History, having first studied Fine Art at the University of Auckland, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Māori/Polynesian Art History.

I specialise in preparing students for art scholarships at some of the most prestigious schools in the UK, providing expert guidance on portfolio development, technical skills, and the entire application process. My lessons cover a range of mediums, including watercolour, acrylic, oil painting, charcoal, and pencil drawing, while also incorporating art history to give students a well-rounded understanding of the subject.

With a deep commitment to nurturing creativity and confidence, I tailor my approach to each student, ensuring they receive the support they need to excel.

About the lesson

I offer tailored art and art history lessons for all ages, specialising in 11+ and 13+ exams and art scholarships. I help students develop portfolios, refine techniques, and explore different styles and media while building confidence and creativity.

Alongside practical skills, I incorporate art history, giving students a strong foundation in artistic movements and influential artists. Where possible, lessons include gallery visits, enriching their understanding through real-world engagement with art.
