About Neringa

Shortly about myself, I am a third year International Events Management Student at Glasgow Caledonian University as well as an intern events manager in a charity and an events assistant in a prestigious city centre-based events company.

I was born and raised in Lithuania, and I have a Brandos diploma while passing the Lithuanian exam with the highest marks. This gives me the confidence and expertise to teach other people this difficult language.

I started tutoring people since I came to Glasgow in 2016 and since then I had three students that reached an intermediate level of Lithuanian. However, because the Lithuanian language is the oldest surviving Indo-European language and barely changed since ancient times, it is more difficult to learn it.

About the lesson

My teaching techniques are different depending on the student and what they would like to learn because I can work through skype or in person.

The sessions will take 60 minutes each depending as many times a week as the students would like. However, there will be work given that students have to prepare for the next session. It is recommended to get ten sessions to reach an intermediate level of speaking of Lithuanian and beginner level of grammar (doing all the task that will be given to do at home )

The main topics that will be considered are the first one is introducing the Lithuanian alphabet and introducing numbers. ( tasks will be provided to practice)
The second session is simple phrases, and pronunciation ( vocabulary list will be provided for the student to practise simple phrases at home after every lesson ).
The third session will be phrases and word usage ( vocabulary list will be provided for the student to practise simple phrases at home after every lesson ).
The fourth session will be about time hours and more phrases ( vocabulary list will be provided for the student to practise simple phrases at home after every lesson ).
Session number five will be starting with grammar ( tasks will be provided to practice)
Session number six will grammar and phrase usage in a sentence ( tasks will be provided to practice)
Session number seven, eight and nine will be grammar and times usage (linksniai) while practicing speaking. ( tasks will be provided to practice, and vocabulary list will be provided for the student to practise simple phrases at home after every lesson )
The tenth session will consist of any questions and revisiting what the student learnt.

*Every session will start with revisiting last sessions material.
