About James
My lessons focus on technique and musicianship. I like to use Charles Duncan’s “A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar”, but also draw from many other sources depending on students’ wants and needs. I rely on over 30 years of experience to inform me on how to proceed with every unique and individual student, including experience not only as a classical guitarist, but years as an orchestra teacher and years of teaching piano and other instruments.

My name is James Hawes. I provide online private music lessons in classical guitar to students anywhere in the world. I have over 30 years of experience and excellent credentials.
