About Moses
Welcome! My name is Moses Mumia, and I am an online English teacher committed to helping students learn with confidence. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Cornerstone Institute in Cape Town and have over ten years of English-based teaching experience as a minister. I have studied in English all my life and am currently completing my Level 5 TEFL certification through The TEFL Academy. I am a patient teacher, a keen listener, and a family man with children aged 19, 17, and 11—qualities that help me connect naturally with learners of different ages and backgrounds. I love engaging students in interactive, conversation-based learning that builds real fluency and confidence. My teaching style is clear, supportive, and personalized to each student’s needs, whether they want to improve general English, conversational English, or Business English. I speak English at an advanced level and also speak Swahili, which allows me to support bilingual learners when needed. In my lessons, you can expect practical activities, guided speaking practice, helpful corrections, and a positive environment where you feel heard and encouraged. My lessons are ideal for beginners to advanced learners, adults, students, and professionals who want to communicate better in work, studies, interviews, presentations, or daily life. My approach to private tutoring is student-centred, practical, and highly communicative. I focus on helping learners gain confidence in real-life English through clear explanations, guided practice, and supportive feedback. My background as a minister with over ten years of English-based teaching experience allows me to communicate complex ideas simply and patiently, making my lessons unique and effective.
I teach in English (advanced level) and Swahili, and I offer lessons in general English, conversational English, and Business English for professionals who want to improve clarity, confidence, and workplace communication.
In a typical lesson, students can expect structured learning, clear goals, practical speaking activities, vocabulary building, and personalised feedback. I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable practising and improving at their own pace.
