About Raquel
I have been teaching English for more than 10 years, working with students from all backgrounds and age groups: from very young children under the age of 5 to university students, professionals, and adult learners. This wide range of experience has helped me develop a warm, adaptable, and highly personalized teaching approach.
I grew up trilingual, speaking English, French, and Spanish, and I also speak Mandarin Chinese fluently. My passion for languages and cultures led me to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Languages (English-Chinese Translation and International Economics) as well as a TESOL certification.
Over the years, I have taught both online and in person across several countries. I spent three years in China working as a Chinese-English translator for Chinese companies and later teaching Business English at university level. I also lived in Argentina for four years, where I worked with businesses and students from different backgrounds and language levels.
Today, I teach students online from all over the world, including France, China, Japan, and Canada.

My lessons are designed for:

Having personally experienced language learning and cultural immersion, I understand both the practical and emotional challenges students face. My goal is not only to help students progress quickly, but also to make them feel relaxed, encouraged, and confident throughout the process.
I strongly believe that students learn faster when they enjoy learning and are not afraid of making mistakes.
My teaching method focuses on:
- Natural conversation and interaction;
- Tailor-made materials adapted to each student;
- Practical use of grammar and vocabulary;
- Speaking confidence through repetition and real-life situations;
- A calm, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
During the first lesson, I evaluate the student’s level naturally through guided conversation. I usually begin with simple questions before gradually moving towards more complex topics. This allows me to identify the student’s strengths, difficulties, goals, and learning style in a relaxed and encouraging way.
A typical lesson usually includes:
- A few minutes of casual conversation to warm up and build confidence;
- Review of previous material or homework;
- Reading and comprehension activities adapted to the student’s level;
- Vocabulary building and explanation of one or two grammar points;
- Speaking and written practice through interactive exercises;
- A final summary by the student of what they learned during the lesson.
Homework can also be provided for students who wish to practice between lessons.
Above all, my goal is simple: to help every student discover that learning a language can be both effective and genuinely enjoyable!
