About Ivy
With a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering and 6+ years of teaching, I focus on jazz and blues guitar improvisation. I love helping students build both technical skill and their own improvisational voice.
Lessons cover modal scales, arpeggios, dominant seventh theory, and bebop phrasing. Students range from hobbyists to professionals, Intermediate to Advanced levels. I provide practical exercises, creative challenges, and performance preparation.
My approach is supportive, interactive, and goal-focused. Students develop confidence, musical understanding, and expressive ability. Lessons combine theory, technique, and improvisation in a meaningful way.
Together, we explore creativity, spontaneity, and musical growth. Each lesson inspires students to find their unique sound on the guitar.

I teach guitar with a focus on songwriting and acoustic arrangement. Lessons explore chord progressions, lyrical composition, melody, and creating structured musical ideas. Students learn to translate inspiration into songs.
I work with Blues Seekers and Aspiring Rock Stars. Lessons are supportive, engaging, and goal-driven. Students practice melody, chord choices, phrasing, and arranging songs.
I emphasize turning ideas into finished compositions. Exercises include rhythm, song structure, and lyric writing. Students gain confidence in creating, performing, and sharing original songs.
Each class is personalized to goals and style. Together, we explore musical storytelling and creativity. Let’s bring your musical ideas to life.
