About Mia
I have been training vocally for 12 years, and in Classical Voice specifically for 9 years. I began training at Showbiz Performing Arts Studio, then continued throughout high school, and am now training in a Masters of Opera at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, also having completed a Bachelor of Music. I am a mezzo-soprano who has worked with The Victorian Opera and on multiple operas and musical theatre productions. I specialize in languages, having trained in German, French and Italian Phonetics. This gives me the tools to work with students of all ethnicities and with varying accents, to achieve precise pronunciation in major languages utilized in the Classical Industry.

Lessons for younger students (Ages 5+) will focus on confidence building, basic musicality, rhythm, pitch and healthy projection, and overall just having fun! Lessons for older students (13 - 26) will focus on confidence building, especially in audition and competition environments, healthy projection and dynamic control, vocal marketability, language work and sustainability. Techniques to develop include Musical Theatre Belting & Mixed-Belting, Classical Music Theatre, Pop and Jazz. Classical avenues to explore include Art Song, Opera, Operetta and German Lied. Whether you are determined to refine a particular vocal craft or are simply looking to try something new and have fun, I am here to work alongside you and provide you with support, encouragement and constructive insight! I can also provide sheet music (in certain circumstances) and song recommendations to continue your development trajectory. All lessons are held online and go for one hour.
