About Kaiya
I’m Kaiya, an Ontario teacher who is passionate about fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments that support students in reaching their full potential. Having recently graduated from teacher’s college, I’m excited to begin my teaching career, bringing my enthusiasm for education to the classroom. I believe in creating spaces where all students feel valued and motivated to learn. Outside of teaching, I love to travel and explore new places, as well as hike and enjoy the outdoors. Spending time with my family, friends, and dogs is important to me, and I’m always looking for opportunities to connect and create lasting memories. I’m also a huge baseball fan, and I enjoy keeping up with the sport, whether it’s playing casually or watching games. Overall, I’m dedicated to growth, both as an educator and as an individual.

As an Ontario-certified teacher, I offer mathematics tutoring that focuses on building confidence, understanding, and problem-solving skills. I believe that every student can succeed in math with the right support and approach, and I tailor each lesson to match individual learning needs, pace, and goals.
My tutoring sessions emphasize conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, use visual aids and real-life examples, and encourage students to ask questions and think critically. Whether we're working on foundational skills or more advanced topics, I guide students through hands-on practice and provide clear, supportive feedback.
I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth. By helping students develop a growth mindset and strong mathematical thinking, I not only support their academic success but also help them build lasting confidence in their abilities.
