About Connie
I come from a large family of eight, I have six children, three grandchildren, and two more on their way. I became a teacher of English and Maori because I wanted to support my children in their own learning and I also saw many students struggling with their current teaching and learning experiences. Learning another language isn't an easy journey; however, with positive and supportive guidance, anything is possible.

I am Maori and come from a Maori upbringing and lifestyle. I have taught both English and Maori in a bilingual primary school. I have also taught Maori in a full immersion primary school and now I voluntarily teach adults at our local marae (community gathering hall). I am very passionate about sharing my knowledge and understanding of the Maori language, culture, and customs.
