About Justin
I am a freelance trombone player, with a Bachelor degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and a Master degree from the University of Gothenburg. I have recently finished an 18 month contract with the Gothenburg Opera, but have freelanced with orchestras such as the Welsh National Opera and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Having lived in Sweden for three years I have now moved to Edinburgh for personal reasons and am looking for new students!

I have taught all ages in the past but primarily am looking for students in later stages of school, aiming for Grade 5 and above, and potentially music college auditions in the future. I have always believed in the music coming first, so my teaching style will try to encourage an independent thought process into the pieces being played and the message being delivered through it. I also believe strongly in good preparation for exams, lessons and auditions, so there are technical aspects of playing involved in my teaching as well. Each student is an individual and I try to shape every lesson towards what is needed at the time.
