About Miles
I earned my Ph.D. in Chemistry (Environmental Biochemistry) from Emory University and have five years of tutoring experience in Atlanta. As a research fellow in a sustainable chemistry lab, I applied green catalysis techniques that I translate into engaging lessons. I hold an ACS Certified Laboratory Scientist credential and am available weekday afternoons and weekend mornings. My Chemistry sessions interweave general Chemistry fundamentals—atomic theory, stoichiometry, periodic trends—with advanced Organic Chemistry (reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, stereochemical analysis) and Biochemistry (enzyme kinetics, metabolic networks). Additionally, I integrate Environmental Chemistry applications—pollutant remediation, water purification—through virtual lab simulations (ChemCollective) and 3D modeling (Avogadro) to illuminate reaction pathways. Practice problem sets mirror AP, SAT II, and undergraduate exam standards, followed by thorough conceptual debriefs that highlight environmental implications.
