About Alexandra

Hello! I'm a passionate and dedicated music teacher who has been sharing my love for music with students since 2022. I believe that every student is unique, and I'm committed to tailoring my lessons to each individual's needs and goals. My goal is to create a positive, fun, and warm environment where students feel comfortable and inspired to learn. I have a strong academic background in music. I completed my Grade 9 and 10 vocal exams with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), achieving a final mark of 80 on both tests. For my Grade 10 exam, I was honored to be placed on the RCM First Class Honor Roll. Currently, I'm working towards my ARSM Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance and teaching with the ABRSM, as well as my RCM Level 9 in History and Keyboard Harmony. Beyond the classroom, I am an accomplished performer. I have won several awards at the Kiwanis Music Festival of Ottawa and have placed 2nd and 3rd at the OMFA for three consecutive years. I have also had the privilege of performing in many musicals in Ottawa, including playing Fantine in Les Misérables, Joanie Casino and Sandy in Grease, and Poole/Emma (u/s) in Jekyll and Hyde.

About the lesson

I believe in a personalized approach to music education, tailoring my lessons to each student's unique needs and goals. For singers, I teach essential techniques like breath support and vowel placement, grounding my vocal instruction in the traditional Bel Canto method. I'm experienced in a wide range of genres, including classical, pop, and musical theater. For piano students, I select from various method books based on their age and learning style. My students have the option to pursue formal exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music and Conservatory Canada, or prepare for competitions and recitals—whether they're aiming for a professional career or simply want to learn for fun.
