About Grace
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 5 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance. My focus is on helping pianists achieve excellence in advanced jazz. Over the years, I have guided students into Berklee, Juilliard, and other leading programs. I believe in combining technical rigour with creative exploration. Lessons cover improvisation, harmonic language, voicings, and rhythmic sophistication. We also strengthen technical skills through exercises and advanced studies. I tailor each lesson to your goals, whether auditions, competitions, or personal artistry. Students also gain strategies for effective practice and performance. I emphasise both the discipline and the joy of music-making. Confidence on stage is just as important as mastery at the keyboard. I love helping students grow into musicians who are fearless and authentic. Together, we will explore the depth of jazz and expand your creative potential.

My teaching is warm, interactive, and designed to help pianists become skilled accompanists. I emphasise sensitivity, partnership, and creativity in every lesson. Students learn lead sheet reading, transposition, rhythmic responsiveness, and ensemble playing. We focus not only on solo skills but also on supporting singers and instrumentalists with confidence. Lessons are goal-oriented and structured around your unique path. I use visual aids and shared scores to simplify learning and provide clarity. Collaborative exercises give you real experience in blending and supporting. Many of my students aim to grow in live performance contexts or digital music-making, and I provide tailored guidance for those goals. My teaching ensures steady progress through both technical and expressive development. Each lesson balances challenge and encouragement. I see every student as a partner in music-making. Together, we work on both precision and artistry. By cultivating accompaniment skills, I help you discover the joy of being an essential musical collaborator.
